When Spencer Tillman’s mother died, he went through an identity crisis. “Here I was, a former NFL player, a successful sports broadcaster for CBS, a businessman, and a husband and father of four beautiful girls. Yet something was missing.” While out on a long walk, Spencer realized what the problem was: the more successful he had become, the more he had relied on himself instead of God. Spencer stopped to chat with a train engineer, and as the engineer talked about trains, God began showing Spencer parallels in the spiritual world. Spencer’s mind reeled with ideas, but one thing was certain: God was calling him to be a leader—at home, at work, and in the world at large. However, to lead successfully, he would have to rely on God’s strength, not his own.

Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me be the person You want me to be. Amen.
