In 1986, Bud Paxson and a partner co-founded the Home Shopping Network, but Bud’s constant absences while on buying trips created a distance between him and his family. One year he came home for Christmas, and, after his family unwrapped their presents, Bud’s wife said, “I’m leaving you.” True to her word, that day, she left him for another man. “I was absolutely and completely bankrupt,” Bud says. “Yes, I was a millionaire, but my success was worthless.” Bud found a Bible and read some verses on how to have peace with God. As he prayed, he felt an overwhelming peace rush over him. “I began my life’s journey walking with Christ,” Bud says. He eventually sold his share in the Home Shopping Network, and, in 1998, launched PAX TV, the national family entertainment network.
Do you feel like you’re financially successful but spiritually bankrupt? If you don’t know Jesus, we encourage you to pray the following:
Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me be the person You want me to be. Amen.
Saying this prayer is the first step towards a personal relationship with Jesus. We would love to pray for you and send you further information.
