When Lavonne Kruse was ten, she learned something shocking: the woman who had raised her was not her mother, but her grandmother. Lavonne’s mother had become pregnant after being raped but had been unable to raise Lavonne herself. Rather than allow this information to discourage her, Lavonne determined to reach her full potential. She married a young, struggling businessman named Tom Kruse. One day while reading about Jesus dying on the cross, Lavonne felt God speak to her: “I did this for you. I love you, and I want you to be my child.” She knew from that moment onward that far from being a mistake, God had created her for a purpose. Today, Lavonne and Tom enjoy success as Tom leads his company, Iowa Veterinary Supply, one of the largest distributors of veterinary supplies in America. While she enjoys their success, she knows that without God in their lives, it wouldn’t mean anything.

Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me be the person You want me to be.
