In 1972, desperate for a job, Doug Hess sold Bibles door-to-door, even though he wasn’t a Christian. That changed when Doug appeared on Pastor Jack Abacha’s doorstep though. After Jack explained the gospel to him, Doug became a Christian right on the spot. Later on, Doug started taking classes at Denver’s Collegeof Financial Planning. In 1980, he became one of the first certified financial planners (CFP) in the country. Soon, Doug had one of the largest financial planning practices in Denver. Doug and his wife, Roselyn, moved to Georgia where today Hesse Financial Advisors manages $150 million for approximately 150 clients. Doug’s Christian faith plays a key role in both earning and maintaining his clients’ trust. Since retiring, Doug and Roselyn spend most of their time using their profits to help others.
