In 1946, S. Truett Kathy and his brother opened the Dwarf Grill and served round-the-clock fast food. But Truett insisted on closing on Sundays. As he said, “If it took seven days a week to make a living, I should be in some other business.” Truett also did this to honor God. In 1967, he founded the Chick-fil-A restaurants, which specialize in tasty chicken sandwiches. During one recession year, he went without a salary to keep his employees from taking pay cuts. They survived, and by 2001, Chick-fil-A had reached the 1,000-store level. Truett is famous for charitable giving. To date, his company has awarded more than $18 million in $1,000 scholarships. Truett also operates eleven WinShape boys’ homes.
Do you want your life to really count for something? Would you like to help others? Let Jesus show you how. If you don’t know Jesus, we encourage you to pray the following prayer:
Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me be the person You want me to be. Amen.
Saying this prayer is the first step toward a personal relationship with Jesus. We would love to pray for you and send you further information.
