In 1978, Gene Birdwell started his own company, Birdwell Construction. A lot of prayer and discussion went into the move, and after Gene successfully constructed an industrial plant, his business took off. Around that time, Gene’s son Brad joined the company. Then his other son, Steve, suggested they branch out into the environmental cleanup business. Remedial Construction Services was born and was immediately successful. Gene’s strong Christian faith has played a key role in shaping his work philosophy. Hard work and a commitment to integrity and excellence were key elements to establishing and maintaining the reputation of his two companies. Gene’s sons agree. Not only is following the Lord the right thing to do, it’s also good for business.
