After ten years with the San Diego Chargers, NFL great Rolf Benirschke retired as his team’s leading scorer. Rolf had fame, success and money, but he wanted something else: peace. Still, Rolf wasn’t ready to commit to living a Christian life. “I was like the rich young ruler in the Bible,” Rolf says. “I had everything, but was unwilling to give it up and commit my life to God.” One day a friend invited him to church where Rolf felt God challenge him: “Are you finally willing to give me your life? Think of all the successes you’ve had ... did those things fill your heart?” Rolf admitted that they hadn’t and prayed for God to take control of his life.
Are you seeking peace? Perhaps it’s time you turned control of your “kingdom” over to Jesus. If you don’t know Jesus, we encourage you to pray the following:
Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me be the person You want me to be. Amen.
Saying this prayer is the first step towards a personal relationship with Jesus. We would love to pray for you and send you further information.
