In 1977, Ed Becker co-owned a successful business, had a Ph.D., was married with three children, and thought he could accomplish anything. His 20-year-old son Alan tried to tell him about Jesus, but Ed was convinced that he didn’t need God. Alan later became seriously ill and was admitted to hospital. Suddenly, Ed realized that despite his education and financial success, he could do nothing as his son hovered on the brink of death. He started to read Alan’s Bible to him every day. This, coupled with Alan’s faith in Jesus, helped Ed realize that Jesus was real. Three weeks later, Alan went into a coma and died. Though grief stricken, Ed knew that Alan would now spend eternity in heaven, and that he would see his son again someday.
Are you truly successful in life? Why not ask Jesus how to be? If you don’t know Jesus, we encourage you to pray the following:
Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me be the person You want me to be.
